EASY BBQ SALMON RECIPE

EASY BBQ SALMON RECIPE

I don’t know about you, but when I need a meal fast, I turn to salmon! Takes only 15 minutes TOPS to make, it’s incredibly healthy, family-friendly, and easy to digest (great choice when eating late).

Plus it TASTES INCREDIBLE! 

Fish and Seafood are some of the best ways of controlling inflammation, at the brain level. Important for proper hormone signaling and keeping you from becoming Leptin Resistant (overweight). This is why I recommend eating it at least 2 times a week (preferably 3 times). Eating wild-caught salmon is a great way to avoid taking Cod Liver oil over the winter months too!

 

EASY BBQ SALMON RECIPE

Yield: 4 servings

EASY BBQ SALMON RECIPE
INGREDIENTS

  • 4 wild salmon fillets
  • 2 tbsps coconut oil or liquid red palm oil (my favorite)
  • 2 tsps Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic (powdered)
  • 1 tbsp grade B maple syrup 
  • 2 tsps Himalayan or Celtic salt
  • juice of half a lemon
  • Ground black pepper to taste


DIRECTIONS
In a medium sized bowl, place the salmon fillets skin side down.

Pour the coconut or red palm oil evenly over the salmon fillets. Add additional ingredients, spreading evenly.

Using your hands, rub the mixture in over top of the salmon (so it’s evenly covered). 

Place on BBQ, skin side down on medium heat. 

Grill for about 5 minutes per side. You may need to cook longer based on the thickness of the fillet. Best to check after 5 min though as you don’t want to overcook. 

I serve mine with either oven baked, steamed or stir-fried veggies. My favorite is to place previously cooked mashed potatoes on the bottom of my dish, layer in my veggies, then place the BBQ salmon right on top. 

I often top my personal salmon dish with a couple of tbsps of extra virgin olive oil, some crushed garlic, a generous serving of Parmesan cheese, and mixed herbs like rosemary, oregano, and thyme. 

My children just like it plain.
